After a nice day off it was back to erg work today. I was feeling quite fresh but for some reason knew to be apprehensive of a 4 x 1 km session despite the 5 min recoveries. So off I went a managed the following

1:38.1 3:16.4
1:37.3 3:14.6
This may appear steady and consistent but it was hell once the first 2 were in the bag. Happy with my overall consostency but need a nice protein shake and a rest before we try that again !!!!

Why does rowing do that to you Damian?
Yesterday I did 5x1500 as perscriber by Mr. H for the first time. After the first 1500 my av HR was 155 max was 166. Then I had 5 min recovery. This is stupidly easy I thought. By the 5th 1500 my HR was av 181 max 193, middle distance rowing the the crewelest thing known to man I thought.
Running doesn't do that to you, I could always do 5K pace intervals over 800 or 1000M with 90 sec recovery and keep a consistant av and max HR.
I think rowing must suck the power out of your legs faster or something.
